NLM has Modified the modifications…Pubmed

As of February 2nd, the National Library of Medicine (NLM) has, at last, taken the advice of PubMed users everywhere and "modified" some of the modifications made to Pubmed last October. Hopefully, these changes will significantly improve the navigation of the database. The biggest change is the thinning out of the "Advanced Search" page, which during the October 2009 renovation had been turned into a catch all, with functionality that was once easily accessible on separate tabs, being condensed into one page. The addition of a separate limits button should help make things a bit more user-friendly, and it is nice that we are, once again, allowed to remove selected limits directly from the results page without having to go to the "Advanced Search" and rerun the query. Other changes, including the ability to email larger batches of results, as well as small tweaks within the "My NCBI" account, have also occurred.
