Roses Are Red, Violets Are Blue

It's Poetry Month at TWU

Who's your favorite poet? Do you have a favorite poem?

To some, poetry is too serious--but poetry can actually be quite entertaining (and, in fact, laugh-out-loud funny).

In conjunction with National Poetry Month, the Children's Collection (on the Garden Level of the Blagg-Huey Library) currently has on display works--in print and media form--of many popular children's poets (including "Overdues" author Shel Silverstein, Jack Prelutsky, Brod Bagert, Lewis Carroll and many more).

National Poetry Month is a month-long national celebration of poetry, established by the Academy of American Poets and held every April. The concept is to widen the attention of individuals and the media—to the art of poetry, to living poets, to our complex poetic heritage, and to poetry books and journals of wide a
esthetic range and concern. From Poets.org.

For your reading and rhyming pleasure, may we also suggest

Happy reading.
