A Children's Celebration of Mexican Heritage

A Child-Friendly Cinco de Mayo

Cinco de Mayo, not to be confused with Mexico's Independence Day, is observed in the U.S. every May 5th as a nationwide celebration of Mexican heritage and pride.

The Children's Collection of the Blagg-Huey Library on the Denton campus is commemorating the holiday in a child-friendly way by showcasing works from the collection about Cinco de Mayo, Mexico and Mexican culture.

Also available for the young--and the young at heart--are themed flyers featuring puzzles, fun facts about Cinco de Mayo and Mexican culture, and directions to make your own mini maracas.

As always, patrons are welcome to visit the collection on the Garden Level any time during Children's Collection hours.
