Across the nation on Monday, January 16th, 2012, Americans will celebrate the achievements of civil rights icon Martin Luther King, Jr. The clergyman, whose non-violent protests and eloquent speeches for social justice inspired and transformed the nation, was born on January 15th, 1929. His birthday is always celebrated on the third Monday in January.
