TWUniversal Search is a new library service now being tested for your feedback.TWUniversal Search offers a new way of searching library resources. A simple one-search-box interface provides students, faculty and staff with the familiarity of online-search-engine searching and results from TWU Libraries collections.
To access TWUniversal Search simply navigate to the TWU Libraries homepage and click on the TWUniversal Search link (on the left-hand side of the page at the bottom of the maroon bar).
Within TWUniversal Search there are three tabs that you can use to focus your search. The first tab (TWU Libraries) is for searching all TWU Libraries content--books, journal articles, Woman’s Collection materials and digital materials.
The second tab (Health Sciences) is for searching the Health Sciences libraries (primarily in Dallas and Houston). This is a more focused search to help health sciences students sift through the large amounts of information which TWUniversal Search would normally produce.
The last tab (Course Reserves) is for searching for course material on reserve. If you ever wonder if we have your textbook, or if your instructor tells you that a book is on reserve at the library, this is where you can search to see if the book is available. There are several ways of limiting your search, including by class, instructor and/or department.
While TWUniversal Search is a fantastic new resource, there are some specialty databases that are not included in this service. To search this relatively small amount of information you would need to consult the TWU Libraries Subject Guides or ask any librarian for help.
