Occasionally TWU Libraries offers temporary access to research databases for purposes of gathering feedback on possible acquisition. At these times input from TWU students and faculty is a vital part of the libraries' decision-making process.Until March 7th, 2012, there is a trial taking place for Black Studies Center--a fully cross-searchable gateway to Black Studies which includes scholarly essays, recent periodicals, historical newspaper articles and much more.
It combines several resources for teaching and researching Black Studies: Schomburg Studies on the Black Experience; The HistoryMakers® Videos and full transcripts of interviews with 100 contemporary African-Americans; International Index to Black Periodicals (IIBP); historical black newspapers; Black Abolitionist Papers; and the Black Literature Index. Also included are a thousand specially-selected Black Studies dissertations.
Access to Black Studies Center--and other databases currently undergoing trials--is available via the TWU Libraries Database Trials page.If you have the chance to share them, we'd appreciate your thoughts. Thanks.
